"Do you feel dizzy, have a headache or have blurry vision?"

Blue opened her jaws to answer, but found her throat to be dry. She promptly clamped it shut, fearing her voice might fail her. She settled on nodding slowly.

She felt something wet on her muzzle. Trying to focus her sight, she squinted, seeing a white pelt, before her throbbing head forced her to stop. She didn't know why, she was no medic.

The cat had disappeared into the night as quick as it had leaped out the bushes. But Josh was still on guard, ready to spring into aid. He padded up to Blue, standing only a few meters from her - as not to get in the way. Waiting, anxiously he spotted Gale lying next to the young she-wolf. He would have to put off talking to the wolf; it could wait until Blue was in a stable condition.

'Concussion' Drake thought unhappily. "Chew on those roots, don't get up. Try and relax, I'll be right back." He ran to the closest trees and quickly found the plant he was looking for, a bush with multi coloured flowers, digging it up by the roots. He took a small bite of the root to make sure it was the one he needed, then ripped off the flowers, not needing them and continued looking for more plants he needed. He soon found a feverfew plant. 'perfect!' he thought, picking as many as he could carry. Trotting back to Blue, he said "Chew on the root, it will help heal ur cuts. Then eat the flower, will help your headache."

flame eyes fluterd open as she tried to peace toghter what had just happend. Stiffness ran through her pelt though something was dulling the pain and as her vision cleared she saw that Kanae was cleaning her wounds. Flame shook off some of the dizzyness from her head then floped on to her stomach, rubbing her paws on her head "Ugg....what hit me?" she half-joked and said "thanks, Kanae" before turning her head to her mentor. A bit shakey at first but flame walked over to where blue was and a pained feeling came over her. 'I'm sorry Blue I failed you, I should of known what that dream ment, it was so obvious...' flame thought for a while before tell herself 'well sorry won't do much here now will it'? She looked up at drake and asked "what can I do to help?" she said in a voice that was weak and small.

"Oh no you don't!" Kanae walked over to Flame and steered her away from Blue and Drake. "You need to have your wounds treated as well."

The Alphess led Flame to a soft patch of grass. Making sure there were no rocks or prickly things in the patch, she motioned for the Apprentice to lay down and relax. She quickly disappeared into the forest and gathered as much cobwebs as she could possibly carry before rushing back to Flame.

Fkame was a bit surprised when Kanae had steered her away from blue and drake and sat her down in the grass but she even still was greatful for the care her alphaess was giveing her. Flame let out a small laugh when she saw Kanae run back to her, mouth full to the brim with cobweds "haha kanae other wolves would of thought you had fallen into a spider nest!" Flame said cheerfuly hopeing that it would lighten the mood a bit. Though flame was still surprised with how much cobwebs kanae had brought to her, she gave her self a look over and saw that she had a few cuts, one deeper one over her eye and she saw that the cut on her leg had opened again.

"haha kanae other wolves would of thought you had fallen into a spider nest!"

Kanae rolled her eyes as she placed the cobwebs onto the ground. A smile danced on her face before she set down to work. Most of Flame's wounds were minor but they still needed to be treated; the Alphess would treat them to the best of her abilities before she let Drake take over. Since she was doing something, her mind was not on the cougar. Rather, she was thinking about what she should do to keep the beast away from her pack. Even though she didn't want to quarantine everyone to a certain area, she knew it may be the best and only solution. A sigh escaped her lips.

"Does that feel better now?" Kanae asked as she stood and looked over her work.

Flame nodded "much better" happyness still covered her tone though she could sense something diffrent in the off white fae's expression and continued to talk to her "thanks Kanae, but plesae don't worry about the couger, you are the alpha after all and if you give in to fear the rest of the pack will feel the same so stay calm and when that evil kitty comes back we'll be ready!" Flame hoped that her jokeing tone had made this relax her leader a bit. Flame lowerd her head to her paws and looked up at her.

Blue rolled to her stomach, sniffing the herbs Drake placed in front of her. She cautiously took them between her jaws and crunched down, not surprised at how awful they tasted. Resisting the urge to spit them out, she ground her teeth into them, pretending it was only a bunch mouse bones she was chewing on.

Swallowing, she felt a tingle on discust crawl up her spine. After a few seconds of trying to get over the after taste, she tried to focus around herself again. Of course the herbs wouldn't work that fast... but after blinking a few times, the blurriness faded a little. At least she could make out shapes now.

She attempted standing up, the strain on her legs was causing her knees to wobble. Blue felt frustrated with herself, she was a grown fae, not a clumsy yearling. Her side stung more when she was on all fours, but it was ever so slowly ebbing away, probably thanks to Drake.

She cleared her throat, but it instantly got scratchier. She thought to tell Drake, or whoever else was listening, "I'm going to the river..." Her voice sounded rougher than she thought it would be. It was almost like claws scraping across gravel.

Blue wanted to go to the river mainly for a drink, to sooth her throat, as well as her voice, but there was another lingering reason as well. She didn't want to hang around the scene of the attack any longer.

"I'm going to the river..."

Gale stood but stepped backwards. He didn't want Blue to think he was hovering over her; he simply made his presense disappear for a moment. However, he was close enough so if she were to wobble and collapse, he'd be able to help her. The guardian kept his eyes on her as she spoke. Would she mind his company? After all, Kanae did say not to leave without another.

"Do you mind me coming with you? Kanae doesn't want others to leave without someone else." Gale spoke in a hushed whisper. He didn't want to bother Kanae while she helped Flame.

Drake nodded when Blue said she wanted to go to the river. "Okay, just let me know if there's any lingering pain, if something doesn't stop bleeding."

Drake turned to Gale. "Make sure she's not on her feet too much."
Drake then turned his attention to Flame. Looking her over he didn't see anything major. He looked to Kanae "You've done a good job cleaning her wounds. Thanks Kanae." He continued looking Flame over, making sure he hadn't missed anything. He looked her in the eyes, thinking she might have gotten a concussion as well. "Feeling dizzy? Blurry vision?"

Flame was happy to see drake infront of her "ya i'm still feeling dizzy and my vision hasn't compleatly cleared up yet" she said in a shaky but happy tone as she flicked blood from the still bleeding cut on her head out of her eyes. Flame looked back into the forest where the couger haf disapered and she knew that this wasn't over yet, he would be back soon. A small shudder ran down her spine.

Gale's tone was almost so soft she didn't catch it. Blue resisted the urge to roll her eyes. She thought sarcastically, Kanae doesn't want others alone, huh? Now why would that be? Oh, wait a second-

Her rant was interrupted by Drake, "Make sure she's not on her feet too much."

She grunted in responce, not really directed toward Gale or Drake. She couldn't help but feel like the two brutes were being chauvinist. Sure, some faes liked that kind of thing, but not her. She hated being treated like she would break at any second without warning.

She shrugged before padding unevenly to the river. She was going with or without Gale, or anyone else for that matter. He could follow if he wanted to.

Amuro stared upon the scene feeling heavily guilty. He could've done something... had he not been sleeping. Blue was making her way to the river, the large tears in her pelt clearly evident from where he was standing. Gale was lingering behind her... maybe he felt guilty as well.

The old warrior allowed his amber gaze to drop to the ground, before he got a grip on himself. No good would come from him if he spent the day moping. He stood up swiftly and strode to the others.

His pelt brushed gently against Katria's as he approached the apprentice healer. He hoped it would convey some message of comfort.

He found the younger brute, checking up on the apprentice soothsayer, as well as thanking Kanae. He asked Drake in a calm tone, "Is there anything I can do to help?"

Drake cleaned up the wound on Flames head, then turned to Amuro. "Uumm...not really. If anything just make sure Blue has a rest." He then handed Flame so of the roots and flowers he had given to Blue but she hadn't eaten. "Chew these and you should be fine."

The glossy fae sighed. She felt Amuro's fleece ever so gently brush against hers, as she smiled. She trotted off toward her tree, wrapping herself around its trunk.

Flame nodded to him and chewed the horid tasting herbs without complant still looking off to the shadows and beond thinking 'where are you...'

"Is there anything I can do to help?"Uumm...not really. If anything just make sure Blue has a rest."

"thanks for the offer though" she said sanpping her self back into reality before laying her head down with a half-hearted sigh. Though Blue was safe flame's heart hurt because she failed to read her dream and to save her mentor but negitivty would not help anything. Flame looked back to drake and smiled "well this has been an eventful day, now hasn't it?!"

"That's the understatement of the day." Drake said laying down next to Flame. "Does this have something to do with your vision?" He hoped by asking he wasn't going to upset her, but he was more than curious now

Flame gave him a long look and desided that she could tell him "well yes and no, there was darkness and growling which was probley when blue and i where knoked out while the couger atacked and the rest... I guess i'll tell you when I find out what it really means" her tone was calm but was still a bit shakey "well thanks for the help drake!" she smiled again.

"No problem." Drake smiled. "It what I do as a healer." He looked over Flame again quickly, making sure he didn't miss anything. "Are you feeling any better?"

Kanae leapt up as Drake approached Flame. She was sure that the Apprentice would help the young fae; she was no longer need. Her eyes flickered to Gale and she stood, shaking her white pelt. The she-wolf rushed to him. If he was going to follow Blue, he would need to know something first.

"You're a Beta now." She murmured softly. "Keep an eye on her but don't act all tough. She hates that."

The Alphess drew back and smiled. Hopefully her words would help Gale become at least friends with the Soothsayer. The newly named Beta Male would just have to play his cards right if he wanted to win her best friend over.

Gale had just started to follow Blue when Kanae's scent wafted over him. For a moment his heart picked up the pace until he could hear it thrumming in his ears. Surely the beautiful female wouldn't notice, right? The male swallowed and listened as she spoke.

"You're a Beta now. Keep an eye on her but don't act all tough. She hates that."

He froze instantly. Him? The beta male of the pack? This surely was an honour. If Kanae trusted him enough to make him the beta male, he wouldn't let her down. The male gently touched his muzzle to the alpha's before taking off after Blue. Taking care to follow Kanae's words, he hung back even as the fae kept an almost unsteady walk to the river. His calm exterior hid the excitement that was flaming beneath his pelt. Beta male. Gale was a beta male. Maybe he would share the knowledge with Blue. Assuming that they started a conversation of course.

"How do you feel?" He asked quietly as he sat down and curled his tail around his paws.

Once Mist had finishes cleaning her cuts, she shakily stood up and limped over to a grassy spot under a big oak tree. Between traveling for so long and fighting the cougar, the fae was exausted. She would wait until everything settled down until she went up to the alphaness to see if she was accepted. Mist layed down on her side and waited for sleep to take her under.

Instead, the forst clearing spun out of control, and instead she found herself face to face with the cougar. This time, he brought friends. At least a dozen of them. The pack battled feircly, but were loosing badly. Blood soaked the ground, and a storm raged overhead.......

Gasping, Mist came back to reality. Shaking violently from the shock Mist whispered in a terrified voice, "He is coming back... he will bring more... in three days time..."

Larka murmured something inaudible as she trudged forward. She hated her life. The trouble with finding food, shelter, everything. It was horrible.
A bird's caw startled her out of her thoughts, causing her to jerk her head towards the noise, her ears against her head in fear. She blinked before rolling her eyes at her folly, chuckling quietly. "Ah... Larka, what have you come to when a bird scares you half out of your wit," she muttered, shaking her head.
Her ears pricked as a small scuttling sound came from a nearby bush and she froze in mid-step, her ears erect. Inhaling the lucious scents of the forest, she allowed a slight smile to form as she began to stalk forward. Slowly, she approached her prey, each step slow and measured to avoid any sound. Her ears pricked, she tensed, her victim in sight. Taking a deep breath, she lunged forward, her hind-legs kicking her off the ground, propelling herself towards the small rabbit, her stride wide. The hare took off, with her in pursuit. Almost upon it, a rancid scent floated on the breeze, surprising Larka enough to cause her to skid to a stop. Her prey ran off, disappearing into the foliage. Larka cursed, a low growl starting in her throat. Irritated for the lose her lunch, she swung around.. Only to freeze. That scent was that of a wolf pack; she had crossed the boundary line.

"How do you feel?"

Blue lifted her muzzle from the river, small droplets of water rolling off her chin. She ran her tongue over her chops, keeping her gaze on the rippling water in front of her. Normally, she would have stood and bent her neck for a drink, but as her legs threatened to collapse, she had chosen to crouch instead.

Not bothering to look up, she answered, "Fine as a cougar-attack victim will ever be." As soon as the water cleared on ripples, her blue eyes found Gale's reflection in the water. A crimson blotch stood out against his black nose. "You have blood on your nose..." she stated blandly.
